Ingrown Toenails

These are problem nails where a corner or side digs painfully into the flesh.

Some people are more prone to the Ingrown Toenails problem because their nails are curvy or very thick. Improper cutting can make the problem more likely to occur. Shoe pressure or trauma from an injury can also mean that the nail can grow in a way that becomes painful.

Sometimes the area can become infected and extremely tender. Antibiotics are then required but unless the nail “spike” is removed, the problem will persist.

If you have a nail that is causing you discomfort, please make an appointment at Foot Health Podiatry and I will try and resolve the problem for you.
